AI sucks, but i think in creative writing, AI can be used for the most menial of tasks,
like punctuations or basic formatting or correcting grammatical errors. (That's what it
is for anyway, generally, in principle, i guess.)
Even if you didnt use AI and you used Grammarly Premium, it's basically the same thing,
just that one is a basically a shapeshifting shovel and the other is a butterknife
and you need peanut butter and Jelly on your toast. I would assume that the pushback is that
by lowering the barrier of use for a tool that will eventually corrupt the process,
we will become more comfortable with AI doing more in art. which is fair.
i actually believe that is what would most likely happen, however,
it is like AI hackathons vs normal hackathons.
They can both exist really,
the real question is:
do you think it is morally wrong, to enter a competition where you are supposed to build a car,
then you build a whole car, design, chassis, frame, finish, everything and when you are done, you ask
your mate to tighten a bolt on the tire while you grab some water?
Anyways, i started using AI for punctuations because, well... i showed someone one of the thoughts on this site
and they couldnt stop complaining about how irked they were by the fact that i didnt capitalize the beginning of new sentences.
mind you, the thought section is literally for the most random thoughts that come into my mind.
it is meant to be raw, honest, direct, unstructured, unfiltered. it should be like me just thinking out loud or texting you.
i would assume the capitalization thing is simply because on every device(and app) i use, capitalization is automated,
hence i never really have to do it.
my punctuations are generally decent, idk. So when i am done, i just ask Claude to format it properly, that's about it.
i cant really go back and fix every tiny capitalization error i had. (i genuinely can,
if i took a couple more minutes to do it by hand, however
i am unsure the justification other than some odd purity culture complex.)
I fear doing so is the equivalent of using a manual car when you could easily get an automatic car,
simply because you want
"the true driving experience".
